Zap-Map, the UK’s leading EV charging platform, is delighted to announce the launch of version 3.0 of its app, which will include real-time data from across the GeniePoint and Source London networks.

Zap-Map users will continue to receive live updates from the POLAR network, the first to partner with Zap-Map, and can expect access to more networks over the coming months. Android 3.0 is now live with iOS 3.0 due in a few weeks.

The new app’s coverage has also expanded internationally to include the Republic of Ireland, enabling EV drivers there to be able to locate, navigate to, and update charging point data.

The app’s improved feature set focuses on the community area, with Zap-Map users now being able to report a charging bay as ‘ICEd’ (blocked by an Internal Combustion Engine vehicle), add and view enhanced status updates, extended account functions, and new café area for users to ask Zap-Map or other EV drivers questions.

On the release of Zap-Map 3.0 incorporating the GeniePoint data, Melanie Shufflebotham, Director at Zap-Map said: “The response to the initial dynamic (live) network data from our users was very positive so we are delighted to extend this by adding the GeniePoint dynamic (live) network data to Zap-Map, with the Source London network to follow shortly.

“Our aim is to give the best possible information to EV drivers on the move and the latest app features were developed with this in mind. The new app also improves the integration of the Zap-Chat platform for live user updates, and enables the roll-out of new features for launch later this year.”

Alex Bamberg, Managing Director, ChargePoint Services, said: “We are very excited by the launch of the Zap-Map dynamic network data, this is the first of many official world-class automotive partnerships with CPS. The coming together of organisations within the EV industry is vital to propel the widespread take up of electric vehicle transportation.

“ChargePoint Services are fully committed to ease of use to all EV and plug-in drivers, our first-class customer care fully supports drivers ensuring stress-free re-charging, in addition we offer the best value in the market with our per kilowatt charging which means drivers only pay for energy used.”

Christophe Arnaud, Managing Director of Source London, said: “We are delighted to have partnered with Zap-Map as it will enable EV users to be updated with live information on the status of our charging points. The app is incredibly simple to use and allows EV drivers to view the locations and availability of our charging points with ease. We hope that giving users the visibility of the whole network will encourage and accelerate the uptake of electric vehicles throughout London.”

The release of the new features and expansion of dynamic network information maintains Zap-Map’s position as the UK’s number one EV charging platform, covering all charging networks and providing EV drivers with key charge point information in a single portal. Zap-Map attracts more than 45,000 users per month from an EV fleet of around 100,000 vehicles and rising rapidly.
