Bath and North East Somerset Council has installed a new dual outlet, 7kW charging point in the South Wansdyke Sports Centre car park in Midsomer Norton, as part of the Source West EV charging scheme.

The new 7kW charging unit is open to the public and accessible with a Source West or Charge Your Car membership.

It will allow electric car drivers to recharge their vehicle in around 3-4 hours.

Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Cabinet Member for Transport, Councillor Caroline Roberts said: “Electric vehicles are more environmentally-friendly than fossil fuel-based vehicles, so the Council is pleased to be supporting the use of them through electric charging points.

“This is a definite bonus for air quality and we hope people will make the best possible use of them.”

More charge points are planned to be installed across the Bath and North East Somerset region soon at locations including the Fox and Hounds car park in Keynsham and Newbridge Park and Ride.
