Zap-Map, the UK’s leading charge point mapping service, has been shortlisted in three categories at this year’s Electric Vehicle Innovation & Excellence Awards (EVIES). Taking place in London on Wednesday 5th October, the Awards aim to shine a light on innovation and excellence in the booming EV sector.

The three categories are:

  • ●  Best New Product Or Service (Domestic) – Zap-Map Plus & Premium
  • ●  Best Consumer Proposition (Utility/Energy) – Zap-Map Plus & Premium
  • ●  Special Recognition Award – Melanie Shufflebotham, Zap-Map Co-founder & COO

Having founded Zap-Map in 2014 with Co-founder & CTO Ben Lane, Shufflebotham continues to be a major driving force in the company’s growth, with Zap-Map recently closing a Series A investment, securing backing from clean energy company Good Energy and global fleet solutions provider Fleetcor in order to build its development team and deliver on an ambitious product roadmap with a view to international expansion.

The go-to app for Britain’s EV drivers, Zap-Map helps you search for available charge points, plan longer electric journeys and pay for charging when out and about. There are currently over 450,000 registered users on Zap-Map, and the app has seen impressive growth in users as the number of fully electric vehicles in the UK has expanded to over half a million.

Last year, Zap-Map launched Plus and Premium, two enhanced versions of the app designed to help EV drivers plan quicker and drive smarter. Zap-Map Plus and Premium are for electric car drivers who regularly use the UK’s public charging infrastructure and, with more drivers using public chargers than ever before, more people are upgrading to Plus and Premium too.

“When we founded Zap-Map, it was with a mission to accelerate the shift to electric vehicles and help the drive towards zero carbon mobility. We help to make this a reality by making electric vehicle charging simple for drivers up and down the UK,” said Zap-Map Co-founder & COO Melanie Shufflebotham.

“I’m very pleased to see Zap-Map shortlisted as a finalist three times at this year’s EVIEs, with Zap-Map Plus & Premium a contender for two categories. It’s testament to all the hard work the team has put in and the progress we’ve made in such a short time.”
