The Ecotricity Electric Highway, the UK’s largest public network of rapid charging points, has announced that a software fix has been scheduled for November 9th to resolve the ongoing incompatibility issues occurring between CCS rapid charging units and the Volkswagen e-Golf electric car.

In August, Zap-Map reported that the Volkswagen e-Golf was experiencing problems charging at Electric Highway CCS rapid charging station across the UK.

The UK-wide charging network responded to the fault saying it was working with charge point manufacturer DBT in Germany to find a solution and that it was most probably a software issue.

In a recent tweet, the Electric Highway confirmed that it was indeed a case of incompatible software and this issue will be fixed on November 9th.

This will undoubtedly please e-Golf drivers who will now be able to travel longer distances aided by the CCS rapid charging infrastructure intended for them.
