Rolling out 2,000 products a month to fulfil record sales, a mezzanine floor has been added to the Chargemaster factory to provide extra essential capacity.
Just 18 months ago Chargemaster established its 7,000 sq ft factory at Luton Airport to take internal control of its production of domestic, workplace and public charging points. This was essential to manufacture Chargemaster products to the highest quality and provide increased flexibility to meet customer needs with an average order turnaround of three weeks.
Jeff Solomon, Group Technical Director commented: “The decision to start our own production facility in early 2013 has proved to be a huge success ensuring we can keep up with buoyant customer demand. The mezzanine floor allows us to continue to expand to continue that growth. We are delighted to be manufacturing in the UK and it appears our customers share that view.”
The news of the factory extension comes on the sale day as Chargemaster announce a new fast charging unit for Tesla Model S and Renault Zoe users.
A three phase domestic and workplace charging unit providing 22kW fast charging capability has been recently added to Chargemaster’s range of charging products. The new compact single socket 22kW 3 phase charger model is suitable for 3 phase capable car owners including the Tesla Model S and Renault Zoe that are looking for a faster rate of charge. The new unit has been designed to be compact, attractively styled and waterproof, making it suitable for outside fitting.
Richard Turnbull, National Sales Manager of Chargemaster, commented “Our strategy is always to develop products to meet customer requirements. There is clearly a market demand for a single 3 phase unit for both domestic and workplace charging and I am delighted our development team have responded with such a great product”.
